TEUCHTERS LANDING, 1c DOCK PLACE
Sometimes you just know when you're in the best pub in the
district. And this is it. Inside Teuchters Landing it is tremendously cosy, with old dark
wood, low levels of lighting, and a number of small rooms to hide and
relax in. The interior has something of a nautical theme to it, which is
quite apt given that it sits right at Leith's water's edge. They usually
have ales from the Inveralmond Brewery up in
Perth, and I would highly
recommend 'Ossian's Ale'. They also have a massive selection of whiskies
and good wines. I might also add that in the Gents they have real taps
in the sinks (not those press-for-a-nano-second's-worth-of-water jobs),
nice scented soap, and a hand-dryer that will blow you away if you're
not braced against something solid. Stupid name aside, this is an
exceptional pub.
